Good, but it's a bit too long and the fourth wall stuff is a bit grating on occasion.

Civil War 2024
Civil War lacks substance. Why does it pull its political punches by imagining a union between Texas and California? If you're going to make a film about the Second American Civil War, make it real and go all out.
Still, curious politics aside, there are a lot of dystopian set pieces here and the road trip narrative bolsters them with a sense of progression as the characters encounter ever greater violence and mayhem.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God 1972
With just a few exceptions, Aguirre, Wrath of God has dull characters, uninspired camera work (especially considering the beautiful location), painfully wooden performances, poor dubbing and, above all, woefully ponderous plotting.
The Rotten Tomatoes consensus praises the film's 'tangible danger'. This is misinformation. Whenever a crew member is mortally injured their deaths are inert and unconvincing. There are no cries of agony, no one in their death throes, just bad actors falling to the ground. That's if we even see them die - we often just see their corpse after they've been killed off-screen. One exception is a beheading, which is quite well, er, executed.

10 Rillington Place 1971
Brilliant. Even better than I expected. A truly skincrawling experience that stirs disgust and indignation. Attenborough and Hurt are perfect. There is no flaw of note here.
