  Comedy is created through the subversion of our expectations, for example, a slasher movie not killing their victim, instead getting high with him. The reason this, and most of the other “jokes” fall flat, is because the movie teaches us the structure in the first scene: it will take a slasher movie trope and make the most basic and predictable subversion.
