after a break from seeing marvel movies, decided to push my dislike for Chris Pratt and have a watch.

now was i expecting for a weep fest in the best sense of the phrase?! no. but am i appreciative of getting more Rocket, less Starlord, and a mostly solid storyline? yes indeed.

though im sure dark brown people existed in high fantasy, enjoyed the delightfully nerdy and zero romance plot- a true dnd campaign.

and had the perfect amount of Regé-Jean on my screen, god bless.

it was a love letter.

a love letter to a black music festival. a letter to Harlem. a letter to black activists and the changing tides in 1968‐69. a letter to iconic black musicians that changed the world. a letter to forgotten history that sadly, hasn't changed much since.

watching this with my boyfriend the other night reminded me of how much life music gives us (not that it was forgotten), but damn...
