finally connected that this is where my dream of raising a tiger cub to be my pet came from. rajah, the true animal bff. 

lowkey this movie drags, but robin williams is truly the life of this movie. can’t say i love jafar’s rise and fall that much, it’s the part that drags. 

the songs are still phenomenal tho. don’t love how aladdin lied to my girl jasmine, but the pure heart saves his character.

though the pacing suffers and you can’t bring yourself to care about the characters, the beauty of catholicism saves the cinematography. 

and also ewan mcgregor as the hot priest. 

rip to one of my favorite written monologues (maybe ever) from the book being completely discarded from the movie. but maybe that’s good because they definitely would’ve butchered it. 

im also a little mad about tom hanks being so ugly in this movie but whatever. at least the assassin was hot.

this movie was on my watchlist for several years because of frances mcdormand, and i can say she was clearly and absolutely the heart of this movie.

but, the script was embarrassingly lackluster. though frances mcdormand and sam rockwell do a great job at believing in their characters and making me truly feel for them, the script’s inability to handle every topic of concern is so awful. the movie couldn’t really stand up for the topics it so desperately wished to take on, which is hilarious because no one forced dude to talk about them in the first place.
