no.3 in the rewatch - we’re back. I’m glad other than keeping ving rhames they completely ignore that the second film ever happened. ofc when I see phillip seymour hoffman in the first 5 mins of the movie I’m going to be locked in, there was parts of this I remembered but I honestly completely forgot he was the villain. the stunts are starting to pick up now, michelle monaghan was a much better love interest (ik she disappears in…

no.2 in the rewatch was pretty underwhelming. absolute shite to be completely honest… felt like a parody of the first movie. found it kind of fun for a but and then realised the whole film was gonna be like that. turns out slapping an a24 logo on a movie and doing a bunch of overhead shots and random outbursts of gratuitous violence doesn’t make a film good. thinks it was a lot smarter than it actually was. reveal (if you can even call it that) at the end was incredibly lazy. 2 star movie that gets an extra half for whatever the fuck that interpretive sing and dance scene john malkovich did was.

also why do the guests randomly get their pubic hair trimmed by a stylist at one point. what was that about.

get yourself a dracula movie that is both freaky and 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 at the same time

this film didn’t completely blow me away but I still thought it was a huge achievement. the camerawork is magnificent - idk how they were able to shoot such crisp shots in low light, it was like it was simultaneously black and white but colour at the same time. bill skarsgaard is completely transformed, like I genuinely couldn’t even see a remote resemblance once the…
