Joker: Folie à Deux 2024
You’ve been misled. Compared to the first one, this is smarter, more incisive, more complex, more emotional, more ambiguous, and has more to say with bolder production and narrative choices and dense, thoughtful symbolism, in general taking this story in really the only way it could’ve feasibly gone without descending into typical cape-shit sequel-itis. It’s the Kid A to Joker’s OK Computer.
