  It's hard to gather my thoughts on this movie because while I can logically piece together Anna's character--the confusion, loneliness, and self-hatred she feels from losing her parents, trying to understand her sexuality/gender, and just growing up--I can't really seem to connect emotionally. Now, admittedly, part of this difficulty comes from my inability to personally relate to the characters, but I also suspect that the story elements aren't as convincing or coherent as they could be.
