  It started promising enough...even had a few solid jump scares, and that doesn't usually work on me. The elements of old and new were enmeshed. Nostalgia was consistently present in a way that I thought was clever, including callbacks to video games like "Alien Isolation." The first act was predictable but solid, and then it took a bloody nosedive into the sh*t abyss. It no longer was making callbacks. Instead, it pillaged all existing content in the alienverse while twisting it together to make a cinematic Frankenstein.

  I'm terribly disappointed, and frankly, I'm offended by those last twenty minutes.

  I absolutely and utterly adore this movie. I may enjoy it more each watch. Morticia and Gomez are my favorite couple of all time.
