The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 2014
Everything that’s good about the first two, the cast and dramatic tone and vibe of oppression, is all still here. This one is just paced a little worse and fundamentally doesn’t really have much to do. All this movie needs to do is build up stakes and tension for the part 2 revolution finale, but it’s pretty hard to keep that fully engaging for 2 hours.
Definitely don’t think the things that happen in this movie justify the runtime, and…

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 2013
Better than the first, levels up the stakes, acting, drama, visual effects, and writing. Lot of character interactions are left out that I would have genuinely loved to see, and I think they were shot or atleast thought of, but removed for time. But I totally would have watched a longer movie so, I guess that wraps around to being a compliment eventually
