  An excellent dark film. The protagonist shined a bright light on religious repression through indoctrination and him rejecting it, allowing to follow his own moral compass. “I ain’t prayin’ no more... ya hear me?”. Baptized catholic as an infant, I’ve come across many people in real life similar to each and every single one of these characters. Although not as grueling, I can most definitely relate to young Arvin as a small and annoyed child blindly praying to the rosary on occasion as told to. I get all types of gripping feels watching this. Antonio Campos created an amazing depiction with this one.
