  Actually enjoyed this rewatch more than I thought I would despite the deep menacing and creepy vibe that lurks in this movie. I kinda like that Willy wonka is not only a bit of a psycho/sadist (as is the gene wilder version tbf) but also a deeply repressed antisocial weirdo who can’t talk to people. Charms me. It is pretty nightmarish though. It’s funny that Charlie’s only flaw is being poor or whatever. Honestly I could generate a million thoughts about this movie but at the expense of my sanity. Justice for Mike teeve he wasn’t that bad and now he’s flat Stanley
