  despite the criticisms i could muster for this movie, i was captivated, and to be captivated for a movie this long says something. the acting was brilliant, the writing was pretty visceral, and it was the story of someone’s life- someone who was never truly treated with respect or admiration by most- it was conditional. really, Laszlo and his family were othered the second anybody was displeased and had a freudian slip. often, he didn’t defend himself. he didn’t want…
