    A giant. 

    I essentially jogged out of the theatre, elated. I texted my friends in a fit of excitement and (potential) hyperbole. 

    “I have found the next American masterpiece.” 
    “We might have a classic on our hands friends.”
    “The Oscar race is upended before it truly began.”

    I have waited a couple of days for my ecstasy to subside, and upon calming down my admiration for this film has only slightly waned.

    From the strip club to The Strip, the bedroom to the courtroom, altar to annulment. 

    It is in the settings most constrained that Anora abandons all constraint. As the characters unravel to hilarious racing-heart effect in the face of the expected dogged decorum, it makes us ask what’s more ridiculous: the breaking of the rules, or the rules themselves?

    Monotonous mishaps play the role of banana peels in a cartoon - parking tickets, tow trucks, door…
