  Coppola was my first love. As a teen who was starting to watch movies more critically and was looking for female directors she caught my attention. One of my first experiences with slower cinema was watching her stuff.

  As my first crush I can never quite shake her. Whenever I watch one of he films about bougie people dealing with ennui I can't help but getting back into that meditative state I felt watching Marie Antoinette and Somewhere. It's like artsy comfort food.
