  Force of Nature: The Dry 2 2024

  Solid movie...I really like Eric Bana so it's always good to see him in a flick. It's weird to see a sequel to such a small movie as The Dry but this hardly has anything to do with that...it's just a continuation of the character. I really feel like this could a series of movies like Wallander used to do. I'd watch the hell out of it. Anyway, the story here is pretty engaging, I liked the central mystery, all the performances are very solid. It's a very solid flick.

  Rating may seem a bit on the lowish side but I really did enjoy this very independent film. It lives in a fully realized world with a sense of back story and history. And it doesn't feel like it has to hold your hand to explain that history. Nice performances, a great mood, just a really really solid effort.

  This could never be mistaken for high art. Nor does it strive to be. It is simply a charming, little sports flick with a great cast and a tidy story. There's a lot of melodrama in the little town but it works in humanizing the characters and giving you people to root for.
