  The movie gets rolling with a fair amount of exposition done well before easing into a comically over-the-top Michael Biehn bad guy taking up way too much space and chewing way too much real estate and making me realize that Cameron has a problem with his bad guys and then finally hitting the meat of the movie with some really great VFX and practical stuff that he would later use to great effect in Titanic.   Another Netflix movie that feels like it was produced for the sole purpose of laundering money. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Well, I mean morally sure...but doesn't mean the movie is gonna be bad by default. Stick some likable actors in there, make them do some fun stuff...it's not rocket science. Does feel like they wanted to make a franchise out of this and I guess it didn't take but Pierce's presence alone made it fun for this guy and his friend and really that's all I need.

  This could never be mistaken for high art. Nor does it strive to be. It is simply a charming, little sports flick with a great cast and a tidy story. There's a lot of melodrama in the little town but it works in humanizing the characters and giving you people to root for.
