Magician rating: two removable thumbs up.
I could talk about the movie for hours but you should watch it instead.
Welles was a stage magician IRL. In the film, he mentions some magi-philosophy. Most art is fake in some sense, when it’s an imitation of real life. But with magic tricks, it goes a step further. These effects imitate actions which aren’t possible, e.g. levitation, telepathy, transformation. The tricks are possible, but doing it “for real” isn’t.

PR puff piece for an unrepentant thief. He talks about himself for 90 minutes.
He used to be a lowly apartment burglar, but now has a feature film, and the public considers him an art thief mastermind. No wonder he confessed to a crime, he got a reduced sentence and a piece of immortality as “that guy who stole five paintings”. It left me skeptical. The police had no evidence to prove he actually did anything, and took his confession at face value.
