  This movie whips ass. Marlene Dietrich is so cool. I keep waiting for the Jimmy Stewart shtick not to hit but he keeps delivering. Billy Gilbert is in this! Subverting gender roles! Subverting genre roles!

  Just completely relentless. Incredible how much this movie just never lets up once it gets going. Wonderfully cynical. Cary Grant's character is hilariously evil. Audience's must have been going nuts when this first came out.

  Rating capped at half a star due to generative AI. But I didn't like it that much anyway. Maybe I would have been a little more charitable toward it if I didn't know better, but it turns out I'm not all that interested in what people who don't care about art have to say about the artistic process.

  The movie makes gestures toward a bunch of Themes, but it's not really clear what any of the gestures are supposed to…

  The Thing 1982

  Watching this in a full theatre late on a Wednesday night was the best way to see it for the first time. All the effects are so good in this, just the right amount of slapstick. Just an insanely fun movie.

Following
