    5 stars for the sheer impact and historical significance of this film. While it’s as silly and somewhat infantile as I remember from my childhood, the design, creation, and execution of everything is staggering. And Judy Garland looks unreal as Dorothy, the true representation of what would become a vibrant and everlasting caricature.

    Very beautiful and immersive, but exceptionally quiet. A true exercise in showing and not telling, it gives a peek into perspectives seldomly considered in film. Florida serves as an understated setting too, representing a similarly tropical counter to do much LGBT representation done across the country in LA and San Fran.
