haven’t been able to stop thinking about this film since I first watched it like it’s soooo GOOD. it’s tight and snappy and funny and heartbreaking and queer and crazy and amazinggg
the pacing and tone are genuinely flawless—never once feels monotonous or overwhelming. each scene is given exactly the time and space it needs. and the balancing act that is keeping a cohesive tone when you have such absurdity going on all around… might be the most impressive feat…

The Hours 2002
I’m so used to the One Gay Only rule with films like this that I was SHOCKED when julianne moore successfully planted a smooch on toni collette like oh my god. and then I was second guessing if maybe I was misunderstanding meryl and allison janney’s relationship bc they’re sooo closed off from each other for the majority of the film and then I had to pause and confirm if that lady was really supposed to be virginia woolf’s sister…

Black Bag 2025
please don’t clock my unsophisticated palate but why was this boring
the vaseline-lens light-halo fuzzy look was either an.. interesting stylistic choice or a very clear indication of the film being shot digitally with a fake film filter put over it. either way, I could not get over it!! it’s giving wicked!

The Prince of Pennsylvania 1988
somethingsomething the effect of verbal/physical/financial abuse (stemming from ptsd/past neglect) on family leading to harmful coping (via unhealthy/taboo relationships) somethingsomething breaking the cycle, autonomy and self-othering as queer allegory…
point is there are a lot of heavy topics explored in this film and it’s kind of surprising how well it’s aged
also it’s simply a good film and keanu kills it as rupert!!
