The Christmas Tapes 2022
This film had a lot working against it, being part of multiple sub genres that typically don’t do well: a Christmas horror comedy found footage anthology. And yet, despite the odds and a few bumps, it mostly works! It’s fun, entertaining, with some interesting twists and great characters.

Great creature design, absolutely adore how Frankenstein's creation looks in this, but really not much else going for it. Leone's typical 'women in sexualized peril' type horror, some gore, and bland/uninteresting characters. Frankenstein's creation was the most interesting until he became, like damn near half the men in this movie, a creep obsessed with the heroine. Like come on, do we really have to do the tired 'the brain contains the memories of the fucked up guy it came from'…

Started out very strong, but as the mummers night celebration ends and everything is revealed to be a revenge/money plot, it just loses all fun and every single character except Kaitlyn becomes stereotypically evil. “Poor people bad!”: The Movie. But up until the last 40 minutes it was pretty fun. What a waste of a good premise.
