Companion would have benefitted, for me, for not sharing anything its trailer. I realize that it wouldn’t be much of a trailer but the twist doesn’t hit like it would have if we all weren’t informed of its existence. Even with this cat out of the bag aspect, Companion is still a very fun “Black Mirrior-esque” romp that is balanced with some comedy and romantic moments that off-set it’s horror motif. With Heretic, Sophie Thatcher had a really good 2024. Eager to see what she does next.

We Live in Time 2024
This film got me from the jump. I love Garfield and Pugh. Check. Together? Double check. They have wonderful chemistry and pulled my heartstrings effortlessly and with the dexterity of a virtuoso harvest. The time displacement worked for me, helping build the story with an element that felt both creative and poignant. This is a two tissue box film and I love it for it.
