This was a real treat. I grew up in Southern California in the 70s and 80s and never really realized we had something so special at the time. This was a lovely testament not only to the channel but to the great films it hosted. The Fog 1980
This isn't so much a scary film as a cheesy romp. Curses, ancient legends, sleepy coastal towns, and of course, fog. It has all the makings of a good campfire ghost story and scratches the itch for a straightforward, old-fashioned ghost story. Don't come at it looking for high art, but the cast is great (Adrienne Barbeau!) and the story is fun, and it's a great way to burn 90 minutes.

Creepy 2016

Very, very light spoilers if you squint.
I'm a bit of a Kiyoshi Kurosawa stan, and this is the first film of his I have seen that I just really didn't vibe with. The atmosphere and composition are pretty classic Kurosawa, but the plot felt empty. Maybe it's all about the senselessness somehow (the beginning frames it that way, I suppose), but it just didn't move me or make me think the way Kurosawa's films usually do.
