Video killed the bumpkin girl!
For a piece of media detesting and raising awareness for the desensitization of violence in media in the 90’s this felt pretty fresh and surprising. That’s probably the best compliment I could give this movie.
Sorry in advance if I become this quirky.
Holy fucking shit. This is one of the sweetest, most genuine, and humble films I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing.
The downhill jam part by the burning house might be the most upsetting scene from Lynch’s entire filmography, I’m dead serious. The only other things that could win that spot over for me are the crash victims from wild at heart, the “reveal” in Fire Walk with Me, or The Return’s final episode.
the dynamic between the patient pacing, and the reliance on actors to display their themes and characters lives through a few monologues is purely magical masterclass filmmaking shit.
Wieners.
