  the animation was a little choppy at times and the story was a little formulaic but that doesn’t really matter cause i loved the character of héra and the story of her and her father’s defense of rohan is compelling. this film has finally given the LOTR universe its first good story since the first trilogy came out.

  a beautiful, quiet movie about a man who understands the value of sitting in the moment and finding beauty in the simple things. but i love that this movie touches on the fact that even though hirayama lives a content life it doesn’t keep him from experiencing loneliness, acted beautifully by kōji yakusho.
