Takes too long to get where it’s going, and the whole subplot with Robert Ryan feels like a way to pad out the runtime (welcome though Robert Ryan always is). Otherwise excellent, Lee Marvin holds the whole thing together magnificently. Oh and shaving with cold water isn’t bad, I voluntarily do it every morning mostly out of being too lazy to wait for the water to get hot, so it being the catalyst for the group finally bonding was funny to me.
