Abou's performance deserves all the awards in the world!!!
movie #2 on a 13 hours flight - i am now depressed
the things i loved about this movie:
- Barcelona
- Cécile de France
- The general vibe in the apartment
- Wendy’s character
- The music in the bars, the dancing, l’ambiance en général
- Relating to things
- Made me want to live an erasmus experience for sure
And most of all, the parallelism between the two scenes where Xavier cries when he’s leaving Paris to Barcelona and then the scene when he goes back to Paris aaaaaaghhthrj that was so GOOD
A movie full of exaggerated stereotypes about arab/north african countries, pathetic attempts at satire, the plots are not coherent, so much going on, they want to talk about gender equality, corruption, marriage, alcoholism, islamism, homosexuality, trans women all in one movie, it feels so forced and unnecessary... this is what happens when upcoming arab directors want to make a post-arab spring “woke” film and they get carried away in their progressive thoughts.... i had such high expectations for this :( what a disappointment!
