I don't know why people have torn a strip off of this movie. It is definitely not the traditional superhero flick and quite different from the first; however it tells a great story, provides a great analysis of both the Joker and the character of Arthur Fleck. It's also a well done commentary on the types of people who love the Joker's nihilism and anarchy. The musical interludes really work too as we get to see the inner thoughts and feelings of Authur in such an entertainment laden way. All in all this is a pleasant surprise of a movie. Absolutely recommend.
