  What I love most about Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut isn’t the terrifying depiction of the elite’s sexual underworld, but instead it’s Tom Cruise’s acting. It’s those looks on his face after Alice’s confession. He perfectly encapsulates an emotion/state of mind that I feel I allow myself to slip into far too often. In those moments, everything becomes a catalyst to remind him of Alice’s confession, no matter how unrelated. It’s like a stew inside the brain that could last forever.…
