  “I’ve never been so scared in my life, and I’ve never felt more alive” 

  Watching this in the cinema was such a tense experience, the sound is obliterating and the stark visuals beg to be looked away from.
  But we are not looking away, we are staring down the camera at brutality that has no sense, means nothing except bloodshed and terror. 
  I went into this with pretty low expectations and wow were they shattered. Also CAILEE SPAENY?!???? Gut wrenchingly good.

  I Saw the Devil 2010

  Been thinking about this one a lot.. I enjoyed a fair amount of I Saw the Devil, the action is crazy and gory and had me jumping at points (both moving car scenes are WILD). I do really enjoy vengeance, ‘the abyss gazing also into you’ etc. as a theme in media. Also Choi Min-sik is evil personified as Jang Kyung-chul and is hard to look away from even when you want to - bone chilling performance.

  But beautiful film and every time he went “brrp brrp” or the capybara did anything I wanted to cry with joy.
