I think this movie definitely holds some core memories. Hadn’t seen it in a long time, but pretty much immediately remembered all the lines. And it mostly really holds up!

Loved this bloody ASMR fairytale despite having looots of questions (did she fire the housekeeper? how tf did she build that secret room? how is there seemingly no money involved in procuring the substance? how does she intuitively know what to do with this medical shit?). Lots of levels and layers to zoom in and out, in terms of meaning: mostly, I keep thinking about the visceral cost of any extractive relationship, whether that’s internal or external. Capitalism teaches us…
