โ€œThe moral of the story is - weโ€™re here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And what the computer people donโ€™t realize, or they donโ€™t care, is weโ€™re dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And itโ€™s like weโ€™re not supposed to dance at all anymore.โ€ - Kurt Vonnegut

A Cruisian labor of love; we must rise against the concept of art that is created by any sort of artificial intelligence.

Visually amazing but emotionally challenged, poorly paced, and possibly unnecessary as a remake.

Criteria: Post-Apocalyptic or Natural Disaster (2/2), Hitchcock (5/5)

Itโ€™s hard to come to this for the first time in 2023 and not treat it as a joke, but damn this movie instantly grabbed me. Tight, tense, and thrilling!ย

Clearly an immense influence on Spielberg. So much of the DNA here ends up in Jaws, especially that diner scene. The energy in that scene bounces from character to character, builds, and creates a tension that is literally sparked and sets off an explosion. So much fun!

Every movie should be a western with vampires. Absolutely my shit.

Messy and clumsy but a whole lot of heart here. Paxton chewing on scenery is nectar and ambrosia to me. Wacky stuff!
