Incredibly moving soundtrack and cinematogrophy. I was hoping to come out of this with a deeper understanding and appreciation for brutalism given its rich contextual origins. Unfortunately this wasn't the socialist epic I was hoping for but ended up feeling quite soulless and depressing. Maybe that was the point?
This just didn't need to be made, there's no story here. Timothee chalomet was perfect to play this role because his acting was just as dreary and one note as Bob Dylan's music. The story of Pete Seeger and his dedication to folk for civil rights would have been ten times more powerful.
Shout out to the uproar when he whipped out that electric guitar it reminded me of how I felt when Mumford and sons ditched the banjos.
Watched this b2b with the first one which was brilliant. Paul mescal gave absolutely nothing except a strong roman nose.
Had watched this before and had not gotten into it, i found it all a bit too masculine and too much quest. Emotionally I wasn’t invested. I watched again tonight with my day 1s, my sisters, my very own fellowship and we cried our hearts out. This movie is so much more than a long quest, the emotions, the friendship! I sobbed as i held my friends close. Thank you for journeying to Middle Earth with me x
