Olivia Cooke and Jack O'Connell hold much of the narrative's weight and at times their performances feel a bit deflated. I would have liked to see a further investigation into the workings and flaws of DPC and Jude's sobriety felt very much like an afterthought. Still, the chemistry between Cooke and O'Connell is enticing and cinematographer Sean McElwee's visualizations of memory loss are insightful and poetic.
