    Big movie time.

Those 3 hours and 35 minutes really flew by. No idea how they managed it. It truly is phenomenal from start to finish, cementing itself as one of the best films of the year. It's as grandiose and ambitious as its subject matter, yet it ultimately tells a human story. And what a powerful story. The craziest thing to me, however, was the realization that the main kid from Thunderbirds directed this.…

Saw this after MADS as a double feature and, honestly, I had a blast with this one too. It's basically The Road meets Mandy.

The edit could've been better, but the overall concept is awesome, and the lack of dialog is justified. It's sometimes to the detriment of character development, but who came here for that anyway? Just give me a spooky time with nasty effects and some bloody action.

This is what I'm all about. Low-budget horror with good ideas that is amongst the scariest films of the year for me. Never afraid of having fun, it strikes a balance between serious and unserious that just works. Sound design and editing were excellent.

    Well fucking done.

Ended the festival on a high note with what was probably my favorite Sitges discovery. Won't say much. The best part about it is figuring things out as the movie keeps surprising you. I will only say that it involves time travel and that it's exciting as fuck. The pacing, the drama, the acting, the sound design; it's all so good. Kept me on the edge of my seat.

If you want logic, this is not for you. If you want a great time-travel mystery, watch it. I just want to go back and see it again.
