    Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Just say that title out loud. We've been desensitized to it because of all the lame sequels and exposure to even this one. But just say it out loud and really think about it. The title alone is one of the greatest titles ever.

This is also one of the greatest films ever. One thing that is far too commonly forgotten or overlooked about it is the beautiful shots and elegant cinematography. We get long scenic views…

This film carries itself in such a mysterious and intriguingly elegant way.

Full of incredible performances, storytelling that blur the line between intricate and straightforward, and absolutely captivating cinematography. This one easily secures it's place at #1 movie of the year.

Some weird pacing at the end but other than that it's pretty solid and the chariot scene was pretty sick. Reboot this with Michael Shannon.

I've seen it again. I have more thoughts. Buckle in for the ol compliment sandwich yet again.

After this viewing, I struggle to have anything nice to say about it. The pacing was weird, the characters weren't established correctly and the visual effects were a nightmare. So the compliment part of this sandwich will be thin. It's a flatbread sandwich. Here we go.

The soundtrack is obviously stellar, as always with these films. And the Ewan McGregor casting is perfect.…

This is contender for scariest movie of the '70s. It's ominous, It has a scary soundtrack. But scariest of all, it has two shots in there that are just the single most terrifying things ever. One is around halfway through and the other is towards the end. If you've seen it I think you know. It's scarring.

Richard Backus CRUSHED this role. It is insane how good and terrifying he is in this. It's the turtlenecks, man.
