I know I watched this on a Saturday but this is a perfect Sunday afternoon film
One of the biggest surprises of all time for me. I really didn’t know that I needed to see this film this much. Werner Herzog’s chilling, haunting yet beautiful documentary expertly explores the life of Timothy Treadwell; a bear enthusiast who spent thirteen years on-and-off living with bears in the Alaskan wild. The film beautifully explores the boundaries between admiration and obsession, the same boundaries that Treadwell spent his life pushing.
Herzog delivers excellent narration and storytelling through his careful wisdom and upmost respect for Treadwell’s life and work efforts. Richard Thompson’s score aids in the reflective and thoughtful atmosphere and never lets up with the feels. This is one documentary no one should miss.
