woww I loved this so much. an incredible film but I also don't think that I 'got' it enough to actually be able to explain my thoughts coherently so here's just an excerpt of narration (cos the narration was so incredible)
"a black tide ripples against arsenic highlights. the dark is invading. esse in anima. to be of violet soul. your master eats with sinners. the healthy don't need a doctor, only the jaundiced sick. and the gods? the gods have become diseases, thought without image, lost in the pigment, trapped in the formless umber wastes."
found the dvd of this in a charity shop today & watched it upon getting home. don't know why I was expecting it to be stale it was actually really emotional and I think I'm like in love with ingrid bergman now or something
