There's a montage in this movie that I cried during not because it was sad, but because it was just so good that it made me rememeber that a select few movies rise above the slop

The Brutalist 2024
Was very obtuse. I mean I understood it on a surface level and the technical mastery was evident. I also did not think it overstayed it's welcome despite the gargantuan runtime, but I feel like there were layers of it that I was missing. That there was something about Laszlo just beyond my grasp that would have elevated this movie beyond being "pretty good."
