    Scanners

    ★★½

Here’s another one of Cronenberg’s scientific disaster movies, another one being The Fly. I don’t like this one as much for a few reasons, the main one being that Jeff Goldblum is too good to beat.

I was a bit disappointed about half way through the movie when I realized how disengaged I was watching it. I feel like it’s the perfect example of how important lead actors are in a movie.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what Scanners is about, probably…

A phenomenal achievement. It’s hard for me to digest this movie at nearly 4 hours of runtime, but oh boy, what an experience.

I’m lucky enough to have seen six of Leone’s films, the missing two being a co-directed one and a lesser, earlier one. They’re both very unpopular and aren’t necessarily acclaimed like the others. I have no clue which Leone film is best and which is worst.

Lately, I’ve been trying to watch as many films that I haven’t seen yet and that are also very respected. After a few films, I can’t help but…

    Dune: Part Two

    ★★★★½

I don’t think that my seat has shaken this much in a cinema from the power of a subwoofer.

I truly have no idea how to rate this film. If I could give it 4.75 I would, because what I don’t like about the film is so insignificant compared to what I love.

Dune: Part Two is much more interesting than the first part. There are so many more concepts explored and the technical aspect improved in certain way.

    I…
