This wasn’t a movie, it was Cinema. LRD went so hard, was obsessed with the candlelit mood lighting and physical locations and sets. vampirism and the occult as a manifestation of shame is very real. The goal is not to be Ellen and let it eat you (literally). Count orlok kinda slays with the mustache. Movie would have devastated me a year earlier.
