  I am quite sure this would have been a Hunter special. He would have extolled it and then I would have ignored it and then, finally, when I saw it, I'd have to tell you that you were right. I think you would have dug THE SQUARE as well.

  Hunter would have loved this movie - or at least that would be his position after hearing all the negative written about it. My son didn't necessarily root for underdog films - he rooted for films that tried like hell to be original and then were slammed for that originality. I think he'd have been more than wowed by the music which is electrifying and, while being true to Elvis' essence, still managed to be it's own thing. He'd have made fun of Tom Hanks, sure... but the film's virtues would have overridden that.
