  Taking on the perspective of a depressed main character clearly has its drawbacks.  And Lars von Trier has a way of creating the most upsetting characters where by the end you kinda want them die.

  Ok after a second watch I’m all the way in (red-pilled?) that this movie was, at the very least, instructive for the Matrix series.  No bullet time or kung fu but other than that… see for yourself.

  They say Harry Caul is a paranoid character, but knowing what he knows, how could you not be paranoid?  That’s like saying Snowden is a conspiracy nut.
