I absolutely loved this film. This was another movie that I have been wanting to watch for a long time and finally got around to it. I saw this film at Coolidge Corner on 35 mm film and it was breathtaking. The cinematography and direction was so well done and the story was so rich and unique.
I have been wanting to watch this movie forever, and I finally got around to it. The film definitely did not disappoint. The story was so powerful and the acting was perfect. I knew it would be sad but I did not know how gut-wrenching it would be. I was left speechless and heartbroken.
I had to watch this film for my modernism and film class. This French Impressionist film was very well made and typified its movement. Although it's a good historical example of film and its development as an art form, it's definitely not a fun watch. I had to write a paper on this film, so maybe that's why I didn't have a great time watching it, but if you like long French Impressionist films, this might be one for you to watch!
I haven't watched this movie in a long time so it was fun to rewatch it! It's definitely a lighthearted kind of dumb movie but it's so nostalgic. Definitely not my favorite movie but still a fun one!
