  Pulled in too many directions, not long enough, never takes on that historical epic quality. Not to be that guy, but Lincoln mogs this in almost all aspects, at least as a movie. Certainly an important story, one that admirably tries to complicate Dr. King and draw complexities and failures into its central figure, but man is this lacking on its own as a movie. 0 visual language, lacking performances from an excellent cast, zero roles for any of its black characters— kinda the best scene in the movie is LBJ talking to George Wallace, an unfortunate takeaway from an MLK/civil rights movie.
