Let's just say, spiritually, that one of them days is "Friday;" It's a dam good Friday. What a blast. It got that perfect amount of wild and heart.

Great thing about a franchise movie this big having middle-child syndrome is that it's the avengers movie I wind up rewatching the most cause I can just check out and have fun. Yeah, it barely delivers on anything it promises (they really couldn't change the title?) but I still get a kick of enjoyment for it being what it is. But man do thing Whedon zingers age poorly. Really cringey quipping from the franchise king of quips.

Without a doubt, one of the best studio productions of the past several years; pretty much everything on screen in Wicked feels wonderfully curated rather than strung together by committee. Big movies such as these can still hold a power in the theater.

Personally, I do find this "Part 1" a full experience, and while there are great moments of filmmaking and scene work, I found that the energy couldn't hold me as tightly outside of those moments. The flow of the movie has a way of simply gliding to its explosive story break.
