  "at least you were paid!" glad they let one moment of self-awareness slip through, all in all the messaging is completely fucked. if you completely ignore that, it was very charming!

  4 1/2 stars because they didn’t kiss

  Kung Fu Hustle 2004

  Only gets better on rewatch. this time with no Eng subtitles and was surprised at how much I was able to follow! Also this time I watched it with my dad who is a huge Wuxia buff, and listening to him get really into all the Wuxia references was a treat. The Spider-Man reference also really got me, totally forgot about that. Bonus ones just off the top of my head: The Shining and Irving Berlin.
