  The Brutalist 2024

  The shot of the train and smoke when the accident occurs really gave me an emotional reaction. So many beautiful shots like this and the smoke / glass veiled shots that happen a few times in the beginning of the film really enchanted me. The chilling marble mines. The heights of the crane apparatus thing that Gordon and him work on. 

  So many striking shots in each section that mirror the striking emotions in that section.

  Very glad I got to see this in the theater and enjoyed having the intermission!

  Charade 1963

  “Oh, I don’t know who anybody is” is my favorite Hepburn line delivery in this one

  Loveeee the later third of this film! The final scenes’ setting is so perfect with the columns and chasing.

  And now I want to do an evening dinner cruise in Paris!! 😩🥖

  I’m eager to rewatch and see how I feel then, but my first watch was satisfying!! And makes me excited for Part 2.

  I need to pause on the costumes throughout because even just the first scene had amazing details on each of the dancers. It was very inspiring to see! Some really fun draping of knit fabrics with swirls of different colors.

  The whimsical cuts and shapes on all the garments throughout were a constant reminder that we’re in…

  The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes 2023

  There’s something about some of the relationship development in this series that doesn’t come across super compelling to me. (Except maybe the cabin scene - the look she gives before leaving is really great) 

  I feel like I just watched multiple movies within this one, with a big mix of great and odd choices.

  Loved a lot of the costuming choices. Loved a few of the individual performances. Viola Davis is so fun in this!! 

  Did not love the Southern accent or the transitions into singing. 

  Also, the convenience of what gets surveilled and what doesn’t in this series is funny to me!!
