a boy with an unstable homelife who gets bullied on the regular gets superpowers, what could go wrong! i liked the way you get a glimpse into his perspective through the camera work. it's kind of a dark film but it felt light and fun to watch, maybe cus it's nostalgic? brings me back to high school in a way.

trying to maintain control in love is a hopeless endeavour. great cinematography, a real solid aesthetic experience. pacing was a little off though, but enjoyable nonetheless. i gotta try blue eyeshadow someday.

felt like a dream you have after taking 2 edibles and passing out: somehow languid and saturated at the same time. maybe I'm really feeling this because I can see myself in both greg and alana right now. the possibility and selfish meandering, and the hope of getting yourself out and of wanting something solid, something adult. this film is about a lot more than this, but that's what I'm latching onto in my post college ennui. maybe it's fine to not rush things; to fall back into the comfort of youth, or the illusion of it, for a little while longer.
