Had the potential to be the best horror film of the last 20 years - alas whilst its brilliant made and fabulously directed it really failed to frighten me beyond a couple of moments. Compare it to say - the original Silent House which still gives me heebie jeebies every time I see it, one has to concede that certain plot structures just dont do it for every audience member.
Its still a great movie in its own right
Now it could have been brilliant and it was certainly ambitious but frankly it felt like it was conceived by two 6th year students discussing philosophy in the pub after one too many Tequila Slammers
Comb over, glimpse of Amy Adams breast, Bradley Walsh being out of his depth, more of Amy's Breasts, Superfluous musical references, Hurt Locker Quiff, Brief appearance by Jennifer Lawrence acting everyone else off screen, oh look Amy in another Tit brandishing dress, more of Bradley over acting, Great scene where Bale and De Niro share glances, Frantic attempt to bring something of artistic merit to 2 hours of Glitz and Gloss, fabulous scene between Bale and Lawrence - oh look…
So truly awful that after 30 mins even my 5 year old son asked that we watch this some other time. It's just terrible in every way.
